February, as always, was far too short, and I feel like I didn't have time to accomplish much. It's only 3 days shorter than most months but those three days really feel like they're important.
I did get a ton done, though--Stitches West! Stephen West and Steven Be! Choreospinning with my drop spindle! Drum carder upgrade with a new idler (thanks, Clemes and Clemes!) and a fancy new drive band. Plenty of yarn spun, too.

I received two lovely fleeces from Judy Gunn of Judy's Novelty Wool, as well--one from her (late, wonderful) Romney ewe, Stacy, with silvery-grey and black markings in a silver-white field of gorgeous curly fleece; one from her Finn/Rambouillet cross ewe, Lucky, who has lovely crisp but fine long wool with gorgeous crimp, a sea of perfect white fleece. I'm working on cleaning those in batches (water and space restrictions--but I'll get to that bit later; I use the low-water method anyway).

I'm also working on Linda's beautiful but challenging alpaca fleeces from Canela and Gypsy, fawn and white machos, respectively. Lots of guard hair and lots of interesting textural changes in the alpaca fleeces!

I'm looking forward to getting more spinning done and having a bit of breathing room to create more art pieces soon.
